Who Loves You?

posted by Jan on , ,

It has been a long time since we didn't go to the kids' Sunday School in church. It's either because we're traveling or Hubby has a speaking engagement somewhere. Last Sunday was Samantha's first day in her next level class. She was promoted to a 3-year old class last month but since we're not around, yesterday was her first day in her class. She didn't want to let go of me so I decided to stay.

The teachers told me that because it's her first day, I was allowed to stay inside. The next time though, I won't be allowed to stay with her.

So I was at the back sitting there. Samantha would once in a while turn back and check whether I was still around or not. I didn't want to break her trust. I told her I would stay and I did.

At one point, one of the teachers was telling about a story of this naughty boy. He was doing a lot oa naughty things that nobody liked him anymore. But, the teacher said, there's one person that truly truly truly loves Him. So the teachers asked the students who that person was.

Other children: Jesus!!!

Samantha: looking back at me, smiling, and with a twinkle in her eyes, said softly: "Mommy."

I think I need to teach her more about Jesus' Love. LOL. On the other hand, I was glad that she knows of my love for her. It truly warmed my heart.

Schenker, on the other hand, since he started counting up to 100, he would say "Mommy, I love you 100 much!" LOL.

Last night was a night I would always cherish. Schenker came to me out of nowhere, hugged me and said, Mommy, you are the best today.

I asked: Today only?

He said: No no! Everyday!

I asked: The best of what?

He said: The best mother in the whooooole world.

A priceless reward.

I sighed with contentment.

My prayer is that they could also feel the love of God, that unconditional love that whatever they do, wherever they are, they might be away from their parents, but God will always be with them. And that God loves them more than we love them.

Anyways, I need to post our pictures I took when we were at Petrosains KLCC. We had so much fun and towards the end, we took photos of ourselves at the photo booth and printed them out. They didn't have receipt printer though. But what amazed me was we did all those for free.

We also did some art works that after we did them we could e-mail them straight away. I tried. I was amazed to get their result in my email when we got back home. Will show it some other time.

My Kids' Visitor

Today, our previous house owner came with his daughter. His daughter is just slightly older than Schenker. My kids were excited to see her. They showed her around the house and watched Samantha's favorite show, Barbie As Rapunzel. I was just so amused to listen to their conversations... especially when Samantha was trying to have a conversation with her.

Anyways, they are moving in only next month. They are staying in a hotel now. They're just waiting for the cargo to arrive in Malaysia where they send their furniture and stuff from Holland. They will probably use a truck with truck accessories to move their stuff from the cargo. Not really sure how it works.

Here, in Malaysia, they use the term lorry instead of truck. So when you want to move your house stuff, you call a lorry. I think truck is an American term.

Anyways, I am glad that there is a girl next door which Samantha could be-friend. Schenker's friend, Sanjay, always come to the house and Samantha would play with them too. I am worried that she would only know the boys' stuff. Now that Alyssa is around, she can have a girl-friend too.

Sleeping Early

I'm a night owl. I think better at night. So I do my blogging at night, usually because then I can think clearly. But it's unhealthy because I have to wake up early to prepare my kids to school.

So now, my aim for this week is to sleep early, to make up for sleeping later than usual last week. Last week was really terrible. I know. I was reading a book again. And I'm the type that if I read something interesting, I wouldn't stop until I finish it.

So yes, that would be my goal. To sleep early... at least this week. I did last night. Having enough sleep can be the most natural acne treatment one can have.

Anyways, I have finished reading that book already. So I have no reason to stay up late. I hope.

We have finally done re-painting the old house. It took 3 days for hubby and me to finish the painting. Painting is fun but it's quite a tiring job. It's good for exercise that if you wanna lose weight, you don't need to pop in some diet pills. Just paint a house and in 3 days, you'll be amazed at how much weight you lose. LOL.

Anyways, we didn't have to do that. But we felt that it was a right thing to do. When the owners gave us the house to use, it was spotless. Now almost 3 years later, it has become a mural to my kids' artwork. And I'm sure you can imagine how it would look like.

So we thought it would be embarrassing to give them back the house in that condition. And besides, they're very generous to us (by giving us a lower than standard house rent) that we wanna show our gratitude by making it spic and span when they move in too.

I'm So Blessed!

Just got back from a cocktail dinner hosted by the Singapore Consular Office in Malaysia. It was truly an honor to be able to go with hubby to this high-end dinner. Saw a lot ofbig-time people. I missed my friend S, though. Her hubby, who is the First Secretary of Singapore Consulate, was the one who invited us. Glad to have a catch up with him.

I always like the concept of cocktail parties. Everybody could mingle and go around. I liked the relaxed mode it brought to all the people. Hubby and I had a good time going around, checking what food they prepared, and who's wearing what. We especially took note of the penna cotta and cream brulee. There were mini tiramisus as well. It certainly brought back the memory of our wedding celebration. We did a cocktail dinner so everybody could relax, mingle around, and catch up with friends.

I am truly blessed to have a hubby like mine. I kept telling him I was so blessed. Imagine being in a party where everybody is addressed as excellency. Hehehe. I am truly blessed.

We actually left the house earlier coz we didn't know the condition of the traffic going to Kuala Lumpur. But surprisingly, the traffic was smooth so we reached Shangri-La Hotel one hour earlier. So we decided to hang around the lobby and ordered drinks. I ordered Irish Coffee because I was feeling cold. When I tasted it, the sugar wasn't enough. So I asked for brown sugar and it came like that in the image. Sugar on a stick.

Today's encouragement which I get daily in my email from is really a good timing for it says:

"I take joy in doing your will, my God,
for your instructions are written on my heart.
I have told all your people about your justice.
I have not been afraid to speak out,
as you, O LORD, well know.
I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart;
I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power.
I have told everyone in the great assembly
of your unfailing love and faithfulness."

—Psalm 40:8–10

Encouragement for Today

This is the stance of the believer. It's not that we follow God's rules to win brownie points. He changes our heart so that we thrill to do God's will. God has written his law on our heart, and it's a glad thing for us to obey him. And when that happens, it's most natural to tell others the good news of what he's done for us. We almost have to share the good things God has done for us.

—Diane Eble, author of Abundant Gifts: A Daybook of Grace-Filled Devotions

So how can I not share the good things that God has done to me? He is so faithful to us and all He requires is to give Him back the glory for everything is from Him.

Singapore National Day

Tomorrow will be the celebration for Singapore National Day. Two weeks ago, my hubby got an invitation from Singapore Consular's office to join the celebration which will be in Shangri La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. And since hubby would be free on that day (which will be tomorrow) , he accepted the invitation. Now the dress code is the Lounge Suit. I didn't know what it meant. Could it mean that my husband would wear one of those men's tuxedo? So I googled about what to wear if the dress code is a lounge suit. And I was so relieved to know that for women, you only wear a not so formal attire i.e., short dress with minimum accessories with an average heeled shoes (spouses are invited too, by the way). Men can wear a suit and a tie.

Glad that my parents are still here. We could leave the kids with them and enjoy a quiet dinner.
